I have read through as many threads as I could and I saw all of the layouts on the main page. I also went through the online design site. Anyway, My shop is 22x30 and the roof is 5/12 simple gable style. The walls are about 10' and the peak is whatever the peak is.

I don't have a 'flat ceiling' so I was just going to mount my lights to the rafters however I could. Is there any issue with this? I have to use 8' lights because 4' won't make the span and attached. I was just going to add about 8-12 lights of the brands I find in the sticky posts.

Your pitch is a bit steeper than mine, which is at 4/12. The center section starts at 14' and goes up from there.

I mounted directly to the ceiling. These are high bays, and the distance to the ceiling makes the angle inconsequential. None of this may matter if your ceiling is lower.

The lights I used came with aircraft cable hangers, and I considered using them, but preferred direct mount.
