Mounting lights to steel beam

I have this big steel beam that runs through the middle of my shop. The bottom surface is about 6" wide and 1/2" thick. I would like to install a strip of surface mount 2x T8 fixtures to the bottom of the beam.

Any idea how I might mount these lights on this beam? Obviously a sheet metal screw won't hack it. I don't think it would be a good idea to go drilling holes all over it. White duct tape? :lol_hitti

Go to your electrical outlet supply house, or the box store they sell beam clamps. You can buy ones that will hold 150 lbs with no problem. They are located next to the electrical strut brace section at HD.

Beam clamps are the traditional way to do this.
And probably the code approved way.

But your joke about white duct tape may not be too far off.
Double sided tape is available in numerous sizes and strengths.
