Mounting max-lite 2-tube LED direct wire to ceiling w/anchors

I have a ~1000sqft garage with a 1-car and 2-car section at 90 degrees to each other. One side is easy, the ceiling joists run perpendicular to how I plan to mount the fixtures so I can screw directly into the joists. The other side the joists are parallel so I cannot mount in the ideal locations and hit a joist. Are drywall anchors acceptable for mounting the fixtures to the ceiling? Or am I better off compromising the fixture location and running right on top of the joists?

I like to use 3/16" X 3" toggle bolts. Mark the hole location and drill a 5/8 hole in the drywall.

Drywall anchors would work fine. I just find them to be a pita for more than a couple of fixtures.

I have the Feit LED from Costco. They weight NOTHING ! I would use a "premium" drywall anchor.

I used 2x 75lb screw-in drywall anchors for each fixture without issue on my 14 fixtures.

I've installed about a dozen of the 4 ft. FEIT luminaires and theoldwizard1 is correct, they weigh very-little. While I think a toggle-bolt would resist pull-down better, a good drywall anchor should hold things permanently, unless you wipe-out the luminaire with a careless wielding of a 2 x 4, some rebar, or something-else tall/long.

I'll third toggle bolts, they are really good for this application. If you pull them out they are taking a 5" circle of drywall with them. One and done.

I favor "MOLLY BOLTS" over Toggle Bolts, because the screws can be removed and replaced.

I always try to find the rafters when hanging things on the ceiling. The Feit 4' lights usual hit 2 rafters. They don't have to be centered because they are so light (pun intended).
