Mounting of Big Maxx.

Can anybody help with mount of a Mr. Heater? I have a 45k big maxx and the mounting bracket that are supplied with the heater will not catch the joists properly, thus i will only beable to catch 2-3 screws to the joists. Anybody have any suggestions or pics. of a better way to mount the heater? Also the roof and wall are all finished (drywall,mud,taped,painted). The heater is an after tought.

I bought and mounted a BigMaxx last year, but my ceiling wasn't done at that point.. I stretched a piece of angle iron used for garage door installs with the holes in it across the joists and then used all thread with a nut and washer on top.. Could do the same thing with a piece of angle and weld the all thread to it if you have access to a welder and then lag bolt it through drywall to joists, or best would be ceiling access to push a piece of all thread through with a nut.. How are you running the gas line to it?

I mounted my Hot Dawg after the ceiling was rocked. Just bolt a couple pieces of unistrut to the joists, then hang the heater from that. I'll see if I got any pics.

Kindorf or uni-strut is the way to go. I got a few pieces from work for the upcoming weeks when I get the heater installed.
