Guys,

I'm working on custom "Grand Canyon" lockback knives to give to my sons when we hike into the Grand Canyon next summer.

The basis is a Jantz folder kit. I'm cutting a round button with a recess for a silver proof of the US grand canyon quarter, from the "America the Beautiful" series. The quarter fits flush in the pocket cut in the stainless, and is pretty tight, but I feel like I should secure further to make sure it doesn't pop back out down the road.

Does this sound like an epoxy job to you or a place to use solder?

If solder...what type and flux would you use? The proof coins are 90% silver...and a little expensive...so I'd rather not mess one up.

These should be nice when I get done. I just don't want the coins to fall out.

Epoxy and solder will "ruin the value" I recommend a clear caulk , not too much needed ...

I'm likely to have $80 each in these knives, with a coin that's worth about 8-bucks now and scrap silver value after it gets carried in a pocket. That just isn't an issue for me at all.
