Moving a 4 post lift

After approximately 6 months of research on the best/easiest way to move a 4 post lift, I finally completed the task today. I attempted to borrow a tandem trailer to back under the raised lift as some had described, only to find out the trailer was 6 inches too wide to back between the posts. I also inquired with a few people who said they could "probably" disassemble it but they were unsure how long it would take and therefore could not give me a price. I then called a local towing company who also advertised equipment moving. They were very helpful and since I was not moving the lift over ten miles, they quoted 75-100 dollars. The driver was extremely accommodating and also offered to load and transport an 80 gal IR compressor along with the lift.
I'm not sure if others will have such a positive experience, but I would sure speak to some local towing companies about moving your 4 post lift. Best 100 dollars I ever spent....and a nice tip for the driver as well.

I would magnet that guy's contact information to the inside lid of your toolbox. You'll find another burning need for it in 3-4 years (or a buddy will need it) and you will then be scratching your head as to which company he worked for

Once you find a good tow man you do what you can to keep him . My guy I try to have anything I need moved done on his timetable so as not to cost him time or missed business. Always reasonable and I tip him . Used him a half dozen times and it is kinda comical as he wants to look after me and likewise . Self employed with one truck . Try to steer biz his way whenever I can .

Win! That does make a good argument for always having one door tall/wide enough to get your biggest piece of equipment through it without disassembly (plus some wiggle room and height for casters!).

I used Rick the Tool Man - he's in the Mid Atlantic, and went across 3 states with my lift. Had the right tools for the job, and was right on the money. Would highly recommend.
