Guys,

I'm thinking about buying a used classic 78 but I have to go pick it up.

I'm trying to come up with a feasible way to do this.

I have a full deck car trailer so I'm thinking about laying the box on it's back. I've done this with crafty boxes without issue.

Any issues doing this with a snappy box?

Other than getting it laid down and Picked up without Damage... Nah go for it.. LOL...

Why not just Strap it Down and Keep it under a 100 MPH? How far do you have to Travel?

But not going over 100 mph takes all the fun out of it.

I'd say about 75 miles one way.

Yea the weight of the box is a concern with laying it on its back.

Remove the drawers an option? The box being on casters on a deck trailer is a concern, even with a bunch of ratchet straps this makes me raise an eyebrow

I have hauled a few on flatbed trailer. Here is what I came up with. Leave it upright, get couple 2x4's least two feet long, 9x3 torx screws and cordless drill. screw front 2x4 down to trailer deck, roll box tight against it, push the rear 2x4 tight, and screw it down. Put 2-two inch wide straps across the top from side to side, and be careful wont have any problems, done it twice now.

You're using a car trailer you say, well cars have got wheels... Just tie it down pulling front to back / side to side and you'll be fine.

I moved a krl 1022 in the back of a pick up. We pushed it up some lawn mower ramps. The box did not have tools in it obviously. It was actually pretty easy to move this way.

Sure.. Removing the Drawers is a Option and will definitely lighten the load and make it easier to turn it on is back (bringing a friend would be a Plus). As long as your not using Straps from Sears, Especially Ones that have had the "Made in the UsA" blocked out, You should be fine.

:rocker:

Seriously Though, Some Good Quality Straps, Some Front to Back/Back to front Strapping, Maybe 1 or 2 over the top and you'll be Good.

X2 on the rachet straps. I've moved my roller (older GOOD husky 42" wide, 18" deep x 40" tall) chocked full of tools this way a few times. I never worried, keep it at a reasonable speed and check the straps. Good luck!!!

Just rent the $19.95 U-Haul 6X9 with drop down tailgate ramp. It makes it real easy to move these boxes.

This, minus the fancy screws :) Did it with a KRA Box.

^^ same here, lift gate works great and the grooves in the floor line up with the wheels on the SO KRA5311 toolbox, makes it a 1 man job

I moved my 84" Snap On Epiq with this trailer. 90 miles each way no problems at all. Just took 2 guys to push it up the ramp.

If you are worried about it rolling, put 2 or 3 2X4s under it to lift it off of the casters. Then strap it down.
