Hi, great site, been reading here for a while and this is my first post.
I have a 24 x 36 garage with a loft over the center bay that is partially open with a spiral staircase, etc. Currently, I have a ceiling mounted Hot Dawg unit (propane) that direct vents to the rear of the garage. Because of the awesome garages and ideas on this site, I have been slowly improving my garage (in between car projects) and would like to make the back wall "cleaner" so when the bay doors are open, it looks nicer (all sheetrocked, insulated, but not painted yet. To accomplish this, I would like to move the heater to the side wall or the corner. Also moving the unit (turning it) will provide a better air flow to the other side of the garage and the loft area (even though the warm air rises).
My questions are:
1. Can I vent the unit to the rear by turning a 90? I cannot vent to the side because of the soffit and the view to the side from the house and pool area -wifey says NO WAY!
2. To accomplish this, I would have to turn a 90 and run about 10' of vent. Is this a problem?
3. If I corner mount the unit, I would have to move the TV, cable, etc. I can do this but prefer not to.
I hope this makes sense and I GREATLY appreciate any help/advice.
Regards,
Doug
