Any advice on moving or transporting a used AC recover/recycle/recharge machine?

Do you need to remove the tank to keep weight of the scale? Anything to protect the compressor?

Throw it in a truck bed and think about a strap or two. Used to move one all the time never did anything special.

The clowns that just serviced our brand new Robin Air just tossed it in the back of their service truck and strapped it to the inside.

Yeah brand new, would not turn on the vacuum pump. Called Robin air and it has the wrong software. So how did it ever pass QC and leave the factory if the software is wrong...

As a service technician of AC equipment, potential weight scale (if so equipped) damage, can occur from rough transportation of an AC machine. Especially if the internal tank has a quantity of freon in it. It is best to either remove the tank from the scale, lock the scales when so equipped with a locking option or to support the tank weight off the scales. Also it is never a good idea to lay horizontally any compressor based system. not to mention that most AC machines have waste oil collection and charge oil storage that can be overlooked and spill out.

Old thread. Thanks for the advice. Luckily I got the machine home and it works. Would be interested to know if there is anything to maintain an recycler machine since you service them?
