Hydraulic Drop Deck trailer. Horizontal ram at the front moves the deck. Great for heavy equipment or items you don't have a way to lift.

I used one to transport my Alliant milling machine (a Bridgeport clone). That machine weighs about 2300 lbs. Combined with my pallet jack it made things surprisingly easy.

Yep, drop deck trailer. Common to rent for moving boxes, Mills, lathes etc. Been around a long time

I have used them in the past for moving heavy stuff. What I did:

Get the weight off of the casters. I use long wood + carpet to support the frame and to prevent paint damage

The decks of those trailers is very slick. I braced the wood spacers above and created a quick and dirty wood frame to prevent any sideways motion of the box.

Strap the toolbox down with carpet or towels to prevent paint damage. Do not overtighten straps or you can damage the box.

I never transport with tools inside as it is easy to overload drawer slides when hitting bumps in the road.

One of the millwright firms we use at work has one of those, dual axle, many tons capacity. I think its older than I am. They just bought a new tractor to pull it, prior was a 1950s beast.

Very sweet to watch them roll equipment up onto it, raise the bed, and away they go.

my snap-on box would maybe fit the 10ft length . and the box empty is if i recall 2300 lbs empty all sections added up . then the tolls alone inside would put it way over the 4k limit .

i use to run a rollback tow truck and moved a lot of box's all the time .

Thats genius, wish I had known about that when I was moving my last 2 horizontal compressors. The Snap on box was pretty easy to get into a U-Haul 5x8 but I sure would have used one of those if there was one around!

Use those a lot for moving scissor lifts, unless we're going to a job where we have a reach lift where I can pull em on and off our utility trailer I get a drop deck.

I’ve seen similar used on farms, for moving livestock. Trailer down flat, pigs walk right on. Raise deck up, away they go.

Have used that type several times to move big snap ons and such, you can rent them here at United Tool and Sunbelt rentals, those are scissor lift trailers. They use them here to move the real large scissor lifts. Drive on and off. Works great for big boxes

I have a customer that builds and repairs safes. He has ten of those. I seen him put some serious weight on those things. He builds some really nice stuff.
