Moving heat run

How hard would it be to move this heat rub to the next run to the left. Upstairs above this is a closet so I could cut floor up. Our plan was to expand the doorway until we ran into this issue.

Not worried about wiring plan on twking that out. Wall is Load supporting wall

In the world of construction you can do anything if you have the $ and time. You can always tear it out.

In all seriousness, open the wall to the left of the hvac duct to see what’s there. If nothing, then confirm no other conflicts and figure out how to move duct one stud bay without affecting air flow to above. I’m thinking a bay shift is not favorable above.

The header span is now wider (larger header likely needed) but you can post this down to steel below.

You should be fine as long as this I beam is parallel with the opening your expanding and the new post is supported. 👍
You should copy any blocking or other detail that's under the existing post.
