Two 3/4 inch thick pieces of plywood laid as underlayment and these wheels mean the air compressor should be mobile on most level and slightly inclined surfaces.
I had cement pavers then a concrete garage stoop and a finished garage floor to use.

Just be careful and have help to move the thing- straps and a 2x4l lengthwise on the tank will give you room to grab the strap to pull and steer the unit.

If you are using a ramp... get a come along or a winch to pull it or slowly release it on this caster setup

Those look good. That is an idea also. I wonder if I can pirate the wheels off a HF furniture dolly. What brand of wheels are those. They look heavy duty and have locks.

rated for 350 #s each. I think they are 5 inches in diameter polyurethane ones from Amazon with 1/2 diameter threaded stem. I also purchased 2-inch diameter 1/4 thick with 1/2 hole rubber washers from Amazon too for vibration control.

I like the idea of the vibration control. Do you remember what they cost? I have a lot of commercial restaurant equipment sources but I bet they would be pricey through them.

I found some that look the same but they are not the single post. I'll keep looking.

Maybe I did buy 4-inch wheels and not the 5-inch ones I keep on citing. But the bigger the wheel means the easier rolling of the compressor but makes the unit's center of gravity higher during the moving.
From Amazon... Stem Casters Aozel Heavy Duty Swivel Threaded Stem Caster Wheels with American Size 1/2''-13x1'' Thread Dual Locking Wheel with Brakes Pack of 4 (5 Inch) @$36

DICASAL 4 Inch Swivel Stem Casters Heavy Duty American Size 1/2"-13x1-1/2"Stem Thread Wheels 360 Degree Durable Wheels Dual Safety Locks Castors with 1320 Lbs Capacity Pack of Four @$36

for the rubber pads that get installed between the compressor feet and the caster from Amazon @ Non Slip Furniture Grippers X-PROTECTOR – Premium 8 pcs 2” Furniture Pads! Best SelfAdhesive Rubber Feet for Furniture Feet – Ideal Non Skid Furniture Floor Protectors for Fixation in Place Furniture @ $10

I made machine skates similar to these to move mine after I had dismantled the pallet. Perk is it stays low to the ground.

After looking at it today I think the wheels may be out. I thought it had 4 feet. It only has 3. To me that would be a bit unstable. Maybe wheels under the pallet on a frame. I'll have to get a good look and do some measuring. My first thought was two of the HF furniture dollies under the pallet. I really have no clue what it weighs. It's a 2 cylinder 60 GL. The newer version says 247lbs shipping weight so that shouldn't be too bad to deal with.

That's child's play :D to move one of those! My 80-gallon upright Quincy 325 weighs, well north of 850# and it's very top-heavy as well.

You can strap yours to a hand truck and move it around with two people.

Did you not learn in high school geometry that three points determine a plane? The best way to move heavy stuff is with three skates two to roll one to steer.

I'm used to really heavy ones. Honestly I thought it was one of those. We moved one earlier this year and it took four of us. This is from my grandparents place that we are prepping to list next week. I went there this morning and two people could probably move this one.

Hi guys. First post, longtime lurker. Spent hours reading old posts.
I bolted three swivel castors on mine. You have to space them with washers to allow them to swivel. Mines a Campbell Hausfeld cast iron, probably not as heavy.

make a new dolly platform out of plywood, solid wood, or metal and use these casters @ Amazon,4 inch Heavy Duty Casters, Lockable Bearing Caster Wheels with Brake, Swivel Casters for Furniture and Workbench, Set of 4.

The dolly should be wide enough to bolt your three legs to and at least the widest width of the motor cylinder assembly. Put in some drill through heavy-duty eye hooks in the four corners means you can also strap the unit down during the move and use them to pull or release down the trailer slope when you move it.

Years ago before I had a welder... I made a 2x4 plus 2 x3/4 inch plywood thick custom dolly to drive my Harley on to and to move around my garage. Glue and screws, good wood and quality casters mean it works confidently.

I moved mine today. We just put two of those HF furniture dollies under it. Thanks for the suggestions.
