I put 2 Gen 5 24k units in my barn (36x24) R19 walls R36 ceiling SW MI.
We have seen some single degree temps and heavy snow recently so I was curious how they would hold up during these cold snaps. Many on here expressed opinions that they cant keep up when temps get down to single digits or output would be low.
I have the units on 67* and temps have not fluctuated even during the coldest we have seen so far.
Just an update for others who may be on the fence

Any idea on cost to run in heat mode yet?
This is the first season we have been in the house so I dont have a previous year to compare.

May not be the best comparison but I have 2 gen 5s in my AZ house as well. Garage similar size and insulation but higher cooling requirements. Computers and such...
Summer times the additional bill for the minis is about $60 ish

Looked for a published chart on outdoor temp to capacity didn't find one other than it will run to -13°f. If they have a distributor phone # ask for tech or start where you bought it. Have both out and indoor # model and serial. Camera works great. Standard capacity # 47°and 17° but they have numbers down to -13°.

I love my 24k 4th gen setup, I wish it heated a little better when it gets below zero though. The 5th gen ones I have helped install definitely put out more heat when its really cold. When it gets below zero mine starts putting out air that is more warm than hot. Like 75F ish as apposed the my friends 5th gen that is still putting out 100F+ air at zero.

Here is the neep list entry for the 24k 5th gen. It certainly does better than the older MrCools, but still looses a lot of capacity at lower temperatures compared to some of the other options:
