I bought 2 Mr Cool 18k Advantage (not the DIY) units for my new building.

The building is super tight with spray foamed insulation with 3” of rigid foam below the roof.

I found a guy here in San Antonio that did the turnkey install for $250 per unit and he did an amazing job! He told me they are doing 5 units per day and are booked out a month. He was here for about 3 hours and they were done.

These things work so well and man are they quiet. Can barely hear them run and each unit heats the space in less than 30 minutes!

Happy day!!

I installed my own this past spring (LG 12K heat pump) and I would have paid that in a heartbeat. It took me more than 3 hours just to run the electrical conduit out through the wall and around to the back where the compressor unit is. It was only a 15amp 240volt circuit, but you still have to lay everything out and pull the wires. Another bottleneck was getting the hoses out through the wall and neatly run to the compressor. I kinked the lines a couple of times next to the indoor unit. Fortunately, my lines were plenty long and I still ended up cutting off about 8 feet outside.

I was lucky to find this guy— he did a great job and was thorough. I did have the electrical to the disconnect completed as well as a pad. Still a great deal in my mind!
