I am considering a Mr. Cool mini but dont really want all the line set outside the building. I would prefer to come out of the unit up between the studs to the attic to the back of the building and then out and down to the outside unit. Has anyone done something like that or is the only option immediately through the wall?

I installed my mini split in my pole barn, this was the last section of wall that I had left unfinished (for this reason) anyway, I ran my line set inside the wall and stubbed right outside- into the unit. Even if you have to do a little drywall repair, you should be able to do what you are wanting.

Good info on the condensation line. I suppose I could skip the one in the line set and create a new one to drain the mini. The mini in the house has a pvc drain.

Dw1, did you bend the lineset coming out the back to fit the wall cavity or did you snake
It some other way?

Based on your explanation and my understanding, you're planning to make at least four 90deg bends per line, right?

If so, the amount of bends and snaking through cavities would make the whole project non-DIY because it requires joint connections (flares or braze). It's not that simple to snake those refrigerant-grade copper (thick wall copper) w/o kinks.

It would be 4 with the one out of the interior unit the tight one. Once in the attic the bends could be gradual. I can get a 36k for around 2000 dollars and wonder how much it would cost me to have custom lines made and then evacuated and charged. Has any one picked up a non DIY system and had it installed? Cost?
