I was looking around the other day and noticed that Mr. Cool is selling a traditional split system with the "DIY" lines and fittings.
It's about time ..... They sell the lines in various lengths .. the compressor is a mini-split style -- typical air handler.
This will be a game changer -- IMO. You can also put two lines together with an optional connector ...
Years ago when I first ran into mini's (ASIA) they often had rubber hose -- like a car. Some had copper ... I also never saw anyone use a pump.
They would just flush the pipes and let it fly ... now, I have no idea about long term life. But it was common -- if they failed ... no one would use them.
I'm not advocating -- just observation.
The limitation with the current MR. Cool mini is the attached line -- I hope they now sell the head w/o and you can pick a sealed line-set. The cool thing is the line sets that are longer have the correct extra charge.
