MR Heater Big Max 45 and Structure Vibes

Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced an issue with the Big Maxx 45 NG version regarding Vibration (low humm).

I originally hung my heater using threaded rod and L channel, I found that the vibration when the blower was activated would resonate through the garage (completely finished and insulated) and into the bedroom above.

Last night I figured that I would be smart and replace the threaded rod with chain. This slightly reduced the amount of vibration but not nearly enough.

I was thinking of using some Roxul safe and sound insulation on top of the blown in cellulose to help with the noise reduction. After talking with Roxul we determined that this is a suitable use for the safe and sound product.

I was also thinking of removing the last 2 links of chain before the heater and using a rubber mount?.

any other ideas??

The vibration in the bedroom is loud enough that I can hear it at night when the heater kicks on.

I just hung mine. Mine is hung where my ceiling goes up in the garage...on one side, it is screwed to the floor joists, on the other (high) side, it is hung with chain. I have the same hum...not that bad, but noticeable. Haven't figured out how to resolve it yet, either.

I have the same issue. I bolted mine to the ceiling under my bedroom. It vibrates and hums under the floor. I am going to get some unistrut and hang mine from that with all thread and 4 vibration dampers. Hopefully that with take care of it or at least reduce the problem.

Just installed one last week. Have the same vibration. put rubber washers on the threaded rod works ok.

you might correct this by devising a method to isolate the heater from the wood framing of the building. rubber bushing like used to mount automotive shock absorbers or sway bar links might work. I'll bet you'll barely notice any vibration with rubber isolation.

I think that isolators would be the best bet. i can't seem to find anyone in town that sells them so I am going to make one.

1 piece of thick Rubber
1 spring
1 piece of thick Rubber

Put an eyebolt through the center of the above and that should work. I will let you all know if it worked out.

Dear god let me know if it works. Every night I have to listen to my wife complain about this. When it dips to -40 and runs 4-5 times a night then the complaining really starts.

I think it is louder in the bedroom than it is in the garage. Amazing product otherwise.

Just buy a couple sway bar link kits at auto parts store, you could substitute
threaded rod for the bolts and make the isolator mounts
