It is about 8 years old and it's propane. It's not used very much it is in a shed I built for my pool table. When I ordered the flame sensor I also ordered the control board and an ignitor just to have. Like I said it lights fine the once ignitor stops clucking the games goes right out the does it two more times then locks out? I will look at the code it's flashing but I thought the green flash was running but will look again

LP loses pressure as the temp drops and it pretty cold these days. Is your tank at least half full? And have you checked pressure (with a manometer) at the gas valve/manifold?

There is a Thread in the past month where the Poster tracked it down eventually to a bad Solenoid Coil on the Gas Valve. Search for that Thread
There is a Thread in the past month where the Poster tracked it down eventually to a bad Transformer (I think?). Search for that Thread
PS
Definitely check for loss of Gas pressure before getting too crazy buying spare parts!

I have had very good luck when I called and spoke to the support folks at Mr. Heater. I highly recommend you give them a call while you are near it if you haven't.

check the pilot, look to see if the pilot is week. on most cases the unit needs a good cleaning. the pilot can become week because of debris in the orifice, when this happens it can allow the pilot to produce enough millivolts to keep pilot running but once the burner kicks on it pulls away from either the flame rod. or the thermocouple.
Most cases you can take a bottle of canned air and blow the pilot out. worst case is you take the pilot apart and get to the orifice and broach it.

If that is not the problem next step is to check the pressure switch. if the pressure switch does not open then you have a possible vent issue or pressure switch issue.

my guess is that this is a b-vent system and not a direct vent. meaning the dust and wood clogged the pilot up. when was last time it had been cleaned?

More info is needed. Post up a picture of the wiring diagram and what code it gave

I think my Big Maxx is Spark Ignited? Not standing Pilot as suggested in Reply #7.

ah, im not use to these big maxx units. I deal with Modine.

if that's the case then my response will be completely wrong since the igniter wont come on until it proves the pressure switch so if the igniter is glowing or sparking it would be a different issue.

my mistake, more info is definitely needed
