I've been reading up on the forum over the last few days, lots of great information but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
My "story"
I'm considering installing a Mr Heater Big Maxx 50,000btu furnace in my 20x24 garage. It's partially insulated and attached to the house.
I would have to vent horizontally which isn't a problem, just expensive.
I can get gas service to the garage from the basement of the house, again just expensive.
I normally only work in the garage on the weekends so I would turn the furnace on on Friday night after work so it would be warm by Saturday.
My questions are:
1) TSC has the propane model onsale right now, how big of a job is it to switch it to natural gas? I have a friend who's a gas fitter that could help me and I'm extremely handy. Has anyone here actually done this?
2) If I choose to run on propane, how long would a 100lb tank last me running for 48hours over the weekend. I understand this would be greatly affected bythe amount of insulation and the temperature outside but I'd appreciate any experiences.
Thanks in advance!
