Mr Heater Big Maxx

****FIXED****I have a mr heater big maxx using natural gas. I turned it on for the first time this season and came out a few hours later to find my garge 85 degrees. The thermostat was set to 50. The thermostat was not calling for heat but the heat was still on. I can not figure out what is wrong as the heater and thermostat are only about a year old and was only used a few months last season.

I would pull a stat wire off of the heater , to eliminate the possibility of a shorted wire

Digital thermostat? If so change the batteries, some will default to heat if the batteries die.

Yes the heat will but the fan keeps running

I will try this but the digital display is still working and it will say heat on and off still.

do you have a "fan on" mode set on the tstat?
