Im sure some of you guys have experience using the Mr. Heater Big Maxx. I purchased the 50,000 btu for my barn. I'm only up there once or twice a week. I was wondering if you don't want it to run constantly can you just unplug it or do you have to shut of the gas then re-fire it each time? Also I am reading I will need to install a drip line. Is this a simple tube hookup that I can run down the wall and drill a hole to the outside?

My Thermostat has a Switch on the side to turn it "Off". I use that during the Summer.
As far as the Drip Line, I assume that you have a Vertical Exhaust? Mine is Horizontal so I can't comment. I will add that most Responders will say that the end of the Drip Line going out the Wall will freeze.

Hey Tractor Jeff,
I haven't installed it yet, but I was leaning toward running the exhaust horizontal. So I guess it's not needed.

It should be installed on a wall switch that you can simply turn off. You should check to be sure but I believe the drip hose is only required in commercial installations. In a horizontal install there is a minimum length so the condensation has enough time to dry before run ing back into the blower. At least that is how I understand it.
