Sorry for yet another Mr. Heater thread. I guess it's that time of year.

Did anyone have an issue with the wiring knockouts. The knockouts in mine do not appear to sheared far enough so they can be removed.

You start bending the rear panel before the knockout comes loose.

Anyone just use a hole saw?

While I'm asking, are people running the thermostat wires in the same hole as the power, or thru another hole. I was considering drilling a smaller hole and running the wire thru a grommet.

I had the same issue with mine - I just ran the wiring yesterday. I ended up drilling a hole through the knock out, then slicing it with my dremel tool. I was planning on running the thermostat wire through the same hole, but I like your idea about a second smaller hole with a gromet.

I was able to get mine out without bending it too much, but it did break and come out in two pieces though. I ran my thermostat wire in the same armor flex as the power, i saw no problem with it. The signal to the thermostat is a 24vac signal. It's not like it's a low voltage low noise DC signal.

Ended up drilling out one knock-out for the power and drilling a smaller hole in the other for the thermostat cable.

Seems to work pretty well, it was 20F outside and it brought my detached garage up to 50F in about 1/2 hour. Still need to insulate the ceiling and door. . . . . should do do very well once the insulation is finished.

I am dealing with that now on an install. I am just gonna use a 7/8 hole saw and use a plastic push-in bushing. It isnt a big deal to do that at all.

I to had the same problem, the manufacturer could do a better job of getting more penetration for the knockout that's for sure. Otherwise, mine has been running for 2 weeks now and it works great. My garage is fully insulated ceiling, walls, and doors.
