I've been running my bigmaxx 50,000 but heater for about 2 months and now there's piece of tin foil coming from the heater, should I be concerned , is this normal?

Mine did the same thing at about the same time period. Get on a ladder and look under the heating coils on the bottom of the unit. There's foil backed insulation and it's what is coming apart. I put a 3/8" x 3" piece of bar stock i had lying around over the damaged portion.

The best solution? No but it doesn't spit foil at me and I was not, and am still not, in the mood to take the heater down. If there's an option to get them to send a service technician to fix it that would be worth it. But its your call - It's a pretty stupid design flaw for some foil that could have been another .005" thicker and been up to the task.

My concern was that the exposed fiber insulation could be flammable (I would hope not but I didn't feel like testing it). I would not run it till you've resolved the issue.

Where about in West Michigan are you? I'm in Sparta.
