Hello everyone,

Glad to find a spot to post a question for garages

I purchased a Mr Heater Maxx 45000 btu.. Also the kit that Princess auto sells for Horizontal exhaust. After installing the Thiimble, and passing the double walled pipe through to the outside, I noticed a gap around the pipe approx. 1/4" all the way around. Went to the Selkirk web site and the hole is actually 5/8" diameter larger than the pipe.
I have found a finishing plate available for 4" pipe as an option, or do you just fill the gap up with rtv silicone?

Any advive or opinions would be appreciated!

I used the red high temp silicone also on th horizontal b vent pipe that goes through the thimble. I believe it is good for 650 F. Got my big max going about a month ago. Waiting for my first January gas bill. My garage is 850 ft2 and I am using a 45Kbtu mr heater, full insulation and drywall.
