first....the electrical knockouts on the back, usually u just put a screwdriver to them and give em a few whacs with ur palm and they pop out..i've beat on this sucker with a hammer and chisel repeatedly and it aint budgin whats up????

secondly....the instructions show an 18" clearance space behind the furnace, and only an inch above...the rear is insualated the same as the top and heat rises...why such a big space behind the heater? is it nescesarry?..

I beat mine too.... put a nice dent in the back of that thing. Then I switched to a hole saw. Other than that, the thing's been great!!! Northern tool has the best price I found (even after shipping).
