I was wondering if anybody used this type of lights for eaves? Why I'm leaning this way is due to space I only have 5 1/2 inches of room so I was thinking 3 inch can gimble with mr16 led 60 degree light bulb. I would like to put them on a timer and dimmer. If you have any other options I would love to hear them. Thanks

A few years ago I wanted something for the same application after finding some evidence of someone loitering in the shadows near my house wall.

I ran a string of inexpensive GU10 3" gimbal pot lights hooked to a timer switch and swapped the halogens to low wattage LED bulbs that give about 300 lumens. Have worked perfectly for about three years. Two lights on each side of the house were adequate to enhance security.

They run cool enough not to cause ice damming (important here) gave been reliable down to -43°C so far.

Costco.ca has some nice options that I would use if I did it again today.
