Their tools are so grossly overpriced, even with a coupon its a worse deal than regular price HD or Lowe's

Absolutely, but that's not their target market. These promos can be a good deal if there's a specialty item you've been eyeing that never goes on sale in the Super Savers, MRO or Metalworking sales flyers.

You're not going to find a 1" carbide end mill or power drawbar at Home Depot.

Enco same company, same warehouse, just geared more towards the hobby machinist. Better sales on hand tools, less depth and breadth of machine tools and cutting tools.

MSC will get you most stuff overnight at VERY reasonable rates - a KEY for businesses who need their parts made yesterday.

Unfortunately MSC's latest "beta" website *****.

I've never seen a MSC tool sold at HD or Lowes. Most of what MSC sells are industrial brands. (ex: Proto).

The key to using MSC coupons is to buy the stuff that can only be found at MSC vs. common homeowner stuff.

I looked at the vise I've been thinking about getting. After the discount it's $50 less than Enco. On bigger discounts like this, sometimes MSC is cheaper than Enco.

I compared prices of items like Channellock and Klein, prices of which I am more familiar with. From what I saw, most things were ~50% more expensive.

I use MSC a bit for my shop, I try to only order when they have 25% or higher sales. Been ordering more and more from other places lately that also get things to my door next day for price of reg ground shipping. It is nice though to be able to order carbide inserts for several different brand tools all from one place with one shipping bill.

I agree on hand tools and the things that big box stores sell, you are better off buying in the store. Was alot better when it was J&L, they sure have messed up what J&L built.
