After work today, i went to Columbus, Indiana to see the Craiglist for Matco Msc12. i did see it and inspected everything i see and feeling the slides. the slides are much better than MSC4!! Msc12 are body welded which no bolts that bolt in like MSC4 do that i have to re-tight every few months if i wear it out... the Casters on MSC12 are great and much better than my MSC4's.. even it have grease fitting to keep grease in to keep it rolling smooth...

i am tried to make a offer but he said 350 dollars or nothing... i was think as might not buy but when i did more inspection on it again as double check, i decided to buy it and paid him CASH...

the MSC12 have nothing damage or bad dent or anything. he said he used it at his home as try to fix the old car that sitting in garage... he is not professional tech or weekend warrior... he just fix car for hobby.. reason why he sell it because he need money to buy more parts to finish that car... i am rather to pay 350 dollars cash than buy it from matco tool truck for 1,030 dollars plus taxes... the scale for that MSC12 i would say about 8 or 9 because it is so clean and work as charm... i Already dropped my MSC12 at my work as my part dept still open so i can put my MSC12 in to keep it in until monday so i can start to use it and work hard with MSC12!!

there is my MSC12 pictures at my work.

The reason the MSC12 feels much better is it is made in our tool box plant, the same way and out of the same parts that our boxes are made of. Its made in the good ol USA

The MSC4s are made overseas.

Thats a good score for $350.00

thanks! i always want buy usa made tools and boxes as support american and have better quality. the MSC4 i bought more than one year ago, it was used by diesel tech and all slides was sloppy. but still smooth. BUT after one years of my ownership, slides are shot even i bought new slides then still shot! so i am ready to move all tools from MSc4 to MSC12 then start work! i am planning to bring my mSC4 to home or My brother's garage.... i am not sure... i do some of side jobs and my brother's vehicles to keep regular repairs...

You work for Matco? Great to have someone with manufacturer info. that is accurate. Our other Matco member looks to have flown the coupe, so it would be great to get your input on Matco products, when we need it.

That sounds like a great cart. Looks sturdy too.
I'm a cheapskate, especially on box prices, but I still think that's a killer deal.
Good luck with it, and keep us posted on how much difference there is in daily use on the better cart.

i was thought MSC4 are heavy duty service cart.... not really because i am heavy duty tech that keep full tools on MSC4 and slides got bad really easy.. so i will keep update after week from i brought MSC12...

Congrats! That's an awesome deal.

And thanks a lot for posting your impressions of the box. I would have hit you up anyway since you said you'd go have a look at it... :D

I'm actually contemplating getting one with the extra drawers in the bottom. I've been lusting over that box for a while now. I have a cheap Torin cart with a sliding top and think those tops are the way to go for a cart. It's great to hear that it's well made and sturdy.

We got our tax refund and my wife is taking the kids and grandbaby to Disney, so it would only be fair to get an MSC12 for myself, right? :bounce:

thanks... i cant wait to go my work now to play with it... i am plan to put MSC4 with cover on it to sitting next to my toolboxes to wait for nice weather and sunny so i can haul it to either my brother's garage or my parent's garage... some of techs try to make offer on my MSC4 but LOWBALL... so i told them, no, it is not worth of my time to make all hassles about prices... so I told them i bring it to home.

I know the week isn't up, yet, but I'm curious. Any more thoughts about the box? Sturdy in use? Drawer and top slides work well when loaded? Any pics of the top compartment with stuff in it?

Sorry to bug you  but I think I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on ordering one...

Just FYI on your selling price of the MSC4, dont let them loball you. I usually sell a used MSC4 in good shape for $350.00 to $450.00.

That was a really good score at 350 for the MSC12.
