I just bought a MT2858 pitbull ratchet second hand. It was advertised as being brand new never used and it looked that way. No oil in the inlet, pristine condition, had no reason to think it was ever used.
Was a bit disappointed in the power. I tried to replicate what Matco did in the video - torque a nut to 90ft-lb and try to break it loose, didn't work. Tried it at 75 or so, still didn't. Used a snapon split beam style torque wrench.
Regulator set at 100 psi to make up for any pressure drop in the lines. It's a 3/4" trunk line ran across the ceiling, 1/2" drop, 3/8" hose for 10 ft. Using milton type V fittings. I don't think its an air delivery issue. What gives... is that video phoney or am I missing something? I just read a post here about breaking it in by running excessive oil through it and running it 2 minutes straight. I guess I coul dtry that. Thoughts?
