I think they are great for use on or around steps... other than that, I think there are better ladder choices. They are heavy. I bought on at Home Depot on a BF deal years ago and have yet to actually use it. It would have been helpful when I was repainting the interior of our house, which is why I bought it. I use my 4' fiberglass more than anything around the house.
I bought my Gorilla ladder at Home Depot a few years ago, heavily discounted during their BF sale that runs for a while during the holidays. If anyone is looking to buy, this is the time of year to do so.

I have a Little Giant and wish I would have bought it years ago before I actually bought it. I use it to stand on, much like a step-ladder but with nothing in front of me.

I also got the Chief to buy one for the Engine as we lost the A-frame ladder when we bought the new Engine. We needed something that can be carried inside a house without knocking stuff over and set up to reach ceilings and such.
