As anyone who is building or has built a hotrod, street rod, or anything with wheels for that matter knows that establishing a proper base to work from is extremely important.

Here are some photos of my new table. It's fully adjustable in all 3 planes allowing it to be used for various projects/vehicles as well as being mobile.

The frame table is being assembled. The main longitudinal beams are 15ft long - the cross members with fully adjustable legs/pads are 6ft across.

The table is kept perfectly square with the use of triangulation gussets which work on a friction system. Once the bolts are tightened...thats it...she's not going anywhere. To move the table around, the rear legs pop out and wheels slip into the 3 pockets...two in the rear and one in the front. A pull handle locks into the front caster to pull and turn the unit.

With a comfortable height set, sliding jigs are being created to mount the engine/trans, seats, and suspension components. It took a bit..well actaully a lot of work to design and fabricate the table. And when another project needs to come into the bay the wheels can be installed within a few minutes and the table with what ever is sitting on top is rolled out.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys! The frame table makes fabricating life soo much easier.

Yeah, that's our 'build board' in the background. A temporary breakdown wall that scaled drawings and renderings get posted on while a wire frame buck is being created from it. I'm into designing and building cars as a hobby...entirely from scratch.

Here is a shot of ... literally ... a 20 minute mock-up. I grabbed some parts from storage to get an idea of the new proportions prior to actaully starting the wire frame buck for R2 - our next 500+HP mid engine sports car. We're going green with some of the powertrain components using corrugated cardboard :p The wheel holders can be slid up and down the I beams allowing any length of wheel base to be set.

We're into the thick of the build with the fabrication of the wire frame buck. The various lengths of box tubing were fabricated to slide along the frame table, then lock into place at set positions. Other lengths were tacked to them.

Once the table is set up and leveled you can see that one can very accurately measure up from a set datum to a specific area on one side and then transpose it to the other.
