multi socket outlets - more than duplex, but maybe 6 or 8? I cannot find them, are they against code?

1) I'm in the US, so subject to US code and products that have UL certification
2) I want to add some outlet sockets to the wall behind my workbench. I have 2 laptops, a monitor, USB charging for cellphone and other things, plus I need another couple outlets from time to time. I cannot find anything in the US like this NZ/Australia one. Do they exist?

3) If they don't exist, then do I just get a 3 wide box and put in 3 duplex outlets (with USB) to make my own? I really like the neat look of the single piece ones. I don't like the "screw a outlet strip to the wall" style.

Thanks.

They make adapters to plug into a standard duplex outlet that provide six outlets. Great for when you want to have a number of items plugged in all the time but only using a couple.

I'm confused. With a cover that you would install anyway, it will look the same as your picture

It will look close, just that the NZ/AUS one is all one piece without the joins.
I think I'll be going the individual sockets and one big cover route, because nothing else is available in the US.
Thanks

If you used (2) 3 gang boxes you would leave a separation between them to allow for the covers. If you went that route you could stack them or put a set of 3 on either side of the work bench. I like the multi outlet strips on a work bench, but the down side is its only (1) 15 amp circuit. The gangable boxes and 6 way outlet covers are generally used for switch banks, most people do not need 6 outlets grouped together.

I like the cleaner look of the single row of outlets that euro style provides. I think it looks better than the duplex outlets here in the US. I'm not sure about code but the long power strip would look nice flush mounted in the wall then run Romex right into the box.

Two of the 3 gang plastic retro fit boxes, one on each end of the work bench, with a mixture of GFCI sockets, USB ports and switched outlets. That would save me from buying the expensive 6 gang cover.

I'm still surprised that there aren't more euro style options, but will cobble together this.

I've currently got a 12 outlet corded power strip with two USB's, however it just frustrates me that it sits on the bench and all the cords running on the desk from one point. I really like the idea of a 3 gang at each end.

Overall current isn't really an issue. I sometimes run a shop vac off this, but really it's computers, monitors, chargers, maybe soldering iron etc ... nothing big at all.

Thanks all, I appreciate the input. I just wasn't sure if I was searching wrong and in-wall multi outlets exist and couldn't find them.

6 and 8 gang boxes are available. Get the corresponding decora face plate and decora outlets with and without USB.

Leviton - Although I suspect only certain shaped plugs will fit without interfering with each other.

Check these out, seem to be more flush or surface desk mount but may work for you.

screwless walplates will give you a decent clean look with decora outlets.

If you wanted something more stylish, you can go with Legrand, but they do cost $
