I have the Fein and it has been a great tool. I'd like to eventually add the makita cordless for convenience as I'm already invested in the LXT battery system.
Do you have a cordless battery system you're invested into? ie. A drill/impact combo.

That's probably your best bet. Most of the cuts I make with my multimaster aren't more than 5 min, which a cordless tool will handle no problem.

At least until your batteries start going south and you have to spend as much for a new battery as the entire tool costs. That is, of course, assuming Dewalt is still supporting that battery type at the time you need it.

I'd just stick with corded... it'll likely last you the rest of your life.

I ordered the corded one for that reason and costs. I figured I was going to spend 150 for the battery powered unit after the costs of attachments and would have to use the batteries I already have at that costs as well.

I got the brand new unit for 75 shipped and now they are 130.

I have a Fein and wouldn't consider any other brand, as they are the original and had it figured out long before the "me too" brands came about. :)

You can also find used corded anythings for cheap on craigslist or pawn shops with tons of life left in them! ...and I'm not talking crappy stuff but Dewalt, Milwaukee, etc.

Hate to say it but my HF multi tool has performed flawlessly and made me some pretty good money from removing grout to lacing in hardwood floor strips. Cutting base and shoe in situ is a snap. It's not the tool, it's the blades. Expect to spend money to keep blades in your kit.

I got the Porter Cable kit from Amazon for $75 a few days ago (it was a "deal of the day). Got a chance to play with it today and am happy with it so far. Tool seems relatively well made and the kit came with a ton of blades, sanding pads, etc.

Have some door frame trim I need to fix and this should do the trick.

I have the exact one you are looking at and love it I have had not issues and it is a real improvement over my last one that you had to use a tool to put the cutter on

I have the more expensive version from HF and a B&D Matrix model. I like the B&D model better but its not very adaptable with alot of blades which is really annoying. The spring tension in the arbor is good enough that it will hold most quick change style blades in there just fine. The HF model is good but needs a quick change blade arbor. Both have speed control which is a must for most of the work I do.

I am very impressed with it as well.... Especially for the price! I got mine when it was the deal of the day as well
