I've got a multimatic 215 and the Footpedal cord is junk. I wanted to replace the whole pedal with one from USAweld but they were out of stock so I replaced the cord instead. It is a simple cat5 cable with rj45 ends. The old one was a typical plastic coated cord and the plastic was breaking. The new one came from https://elitecoreaudio.com/elite-core-supercat5e-ultra-flexible-shielded-tactical-cat5e/
It is 100 times better, it's rubber instead of plastic and is way more flexible. I think it's gonna last a long time. 019efa7b96a6dd8a53a60ef73d5b4bb1.jpg7f7e84e676c2279c0257adb89450c2ae.jpgcc1773c6335f47d75c8606fb6508227f.jpga98b72c2092508390fcb601b1c820a33.jpg

I hate the millers that came with those Ethernet plug peddles, the peddles **** anyway. I always bought the adapter that let you use a 14 pin heavy duty peddle.

chicken farmer and J larson, can you clarify a bit? i have the miller multimatic 215, and it has the lousy plastic coverered cord that goes to the foot pedal. it has the ethernet plug that goes into the machine. i would like to upgrade the cord too. do you recommend getting a new cord with ethernet connection plugs, or should i get an adapter. if an adapter, how do i hook it up to the machine (which has an ethernet type plug -in female connection on the machine). thank you.

to clarify, the pedal itself works fine....its just the cord that *****.

That doesn’t look like the miller pedals I have. Wonder if they have a cheaper version? My Dynasty and Syncrowave foot pedals are very nice quality.

Even the less expensive Maxstar pedal is still very nice.

I had no idea that was even a thing, My multimatic 220 has a nice pedal, cord and 14 pin. I guess I assumed they would be the same.
I don't think it would be that hard to convert to some kind of mil-spec-like connector and cord set if someone really wanted to.

You can go either way. If you want to spend some money and have a nicer pedal then you have to get a 14 pin pedal (like what you would get with a big tig machine) and the adaptor, which just plugs into the rj45 port.
If you don't mind the small pedal and you just want to upgrade the cord then do what I did. It's cheaper and the pedal seems to be fine. Plus I like the small size cause it lives on the service truck

I have a 220, also. The pedal is fine for me. I did upgrade the tig lead and mig lead. Not sure why they put 100 amp leads on a 200 amp machine.

The Diversion and Multimatic 215 use the smaller, chaeper RJ45 style control.
Almost everything else uses the RFCS-14 control.
