Hello everyone I have to change the battery on my multimeter, and the 2 tiny screws to get to the battery are stripped . Using Phillips head eye glass screwdriver to get out but ended up stripped/stuck. The screws are approx 1/4” down into the casing , they are not flat with the casing . Any tips of how to get them out ? I’m a cheapskate so I hate throwing things out lol . Can’t fit a extractor in there either , tiny area . Could I drill it out ? Thanks

I'll bet the screws are fine, it's probably the inserts spinning in the plastic. Couple of different ways to address it depending on how the meter's built and how sensitive you are to damage.

Pull on the cover or jam something underneath it while simultaneously turning the screws. The goal is to put pressure on the threads while turning the screw.

superglue the screwdriver to the head? Never tried it, don't glue the screw to the case. That way you can pull on the screw maybe

Thanks guys I ended up doing what the first poster said and used a dremel to take the head off , then opened it up and removed the studs
