I've looked and searched but I couldn't find an answer. I want to dim 6 LED flat panels. Do i just run the wire to the first fixture and that will dim all of them? Or do I need to daisy chain them or run a 18 gauge wire from each one individually to the dimmer switch? Sorry for the newb question.

first question is, are they dimmable fixtures? not all LED are dimable
you're fixtures are wired parallel, not series . and 18 g wire is probably not acceptable ,14 is minimum building wore permitted ( unless insode a rated fixture)

I use 18 gauge attached to the 0-10v dimmer wires in each light, daisy chained (just like my 120v power wires for each of the several lights controlled by a particular switch). I use switches with integrated dimmers. These cost more and you must use dimmer wire rated to 300v since it is going into the same switch box as the 120v power wires.

Alternatively you can use cheaper separate 0-10v dimmer switches and run cheaper bell wire since there won’t be 120v power wires in the dimmer switch boxes. My 20 lights are controlled by 4 switches so I did not want separate dimmer switches — I would have had 8 switches total then (4 power on and off and 4 dimmer).

I am also wondering about this. If I have all my lights connected together, do I need to run the dimmer wire to each light or just to the first one?

Daisy chain the dimming wires. I just set up some high bays and they work fine daisy chained with 18ga.

Nearly all flat panels have use a low voltage control system which is separate from the power supply. You both will need to run control wires to EACH fixture that you want to dim. 16AWG or 18AWG 2-conductor wire is what you need. It doesn't need to be twisted pair or shielded. It doesn't need to be in conduit. Just join all the purples together and all the grays together and connect them to the controller.
Alternatively, there are systems that are wireless that you can use, but they are kind of pricey.

Also look at the rating for switches you are considering. Some are lower than others. LED might only be 40 watts but if you have 20 on a switch rated for 640 watts, that is not good. Cc

There are also flat panels that will change color as well as dim through a remote control and the remote can control several sets (series of lights on a switch). Looked interesting but more expensive and I was not sure about reliability or ease of use and went old school instead.
