I'm not an electrician by any means, but would like to understand what the options are for installing, say, 6 maxlite lights on one circuit. These will be mounted flat against the ceiling. Does each light need it's own electrical box in the ceiling?, can you just connect the wires (with ?) and shove them up through a hole in the ceiling?, or is there some special way to do this? (Note that this fixture is not all that wide and a normal box would show around the edges of this fixture).

(Note that I'm not going to be doing this work myself but would like to understand options.)

Thanks!

Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician so I can't comment on current NEC code regulations.

Drop romex through strategically placed small romex sized hole in ceiling such that the drop hits the back knockout of the fixture. Then jump from fixture to fixture in the ceiling making all connections in the fixture housings. Or you can jump from fixture to fixture through fixture ends and staple romex to cieling surface (less aesthetic, but very easy). Or you can run conduit from fixture end to fixture end.

You'll need 3/8" Romex connectors to protect romex from sharp metal fixture housing knockouts
