Multiple path air intake for air compressor?

Can I get some input on an idea I had? I want to do an air intake that goes outside with shutoff valve for day time running and an inside with a shut off for night time use.

Essentially the outside valve will be open 7am to 10pm wit the inside valve closed. And for the rest of the time the oppisite.

Will this damage my air compressor?

No, but that's a lot of complexity for minimal gain. A well muffled intake shouldn't be a problem.

I agree with above poster, but if I was doing it, I would use a 3 way valve so you can't accidentally shut the suction side off completely
