I have several 10mm normal combo wrenches because I tend to keep all the tools I am use for a project, with the project and I work on several things at once.

METRIC: Long, normal and stubby combos, long and stubby ratcheting combos, straight and offset double box end and U-shaped box end -wrenches.

SAE: Long and normal combo, stubby ratcheting combo, straight double box end.

Additionally I have several normal combos in the sizes I need most often like 10 and 13mm etc.

I find it very annoying if I cannot get something off only because I do not have a wrench which can reach the fastener because of wrong length or angle. Also, quite often same size bolt and nut. So, over the years when I ran into trouble I bought more and now its becoming a rare thing.

I think I might have a problem,I have 2 sets of each sae and metric combination wrenches in 3 rollaways, and at least 1 of every other style in 1 in the garage. This is my at home box sae and metric drawers.

Well I have multiples of many sizes, in some cases 8 or more! Here they are, Metric Combo, SAE Combo, DoubleBox/DoubleOpen/Distributer/Obstruction, Ratcheting, and finally the big **** that gets used more as pry bars in home use these days...

Some of it is logic that in many cases you need more than one at a time and you need more than one if you break one part way through a job (need a back-up). I used to have multiple boxes, work, Jeep, home, now they are all together at home, hence the big count of some sizes... Basically four and change drawers of wrenches!

I forgot to mention, sometimes there is a sale...

I have two of each combo wrench and 3-4 of them in the most common sizes.
I have figured out that if you lay them flat in foam and stack them they take the least amount of space.
I also have long wrenches, short and midget. Double box and double box offset but only singles in those more specialized wrenches

Why so many?

Well....when my dad and I are working on a project together then more is better...
When I drop a wrench and it goes under the car....I leave it and grab another
When I set a wrench down and misplace it...I grab another

Basically it just makes life easier
