We purchased and moved into our new (to us) house on May 5th, 2015. The house is 2,500 SF with an attached 3 car garage on a 9,500 sf lot built in 1996. The new house is a big change from the 1,300 sf with attached 2 car garage house we sold. The old house we fully remodeled so I didn't get to do much to the garage. The new house already has the interior mostly remodeled so I can concentrate on other projects.

I don't have any good exterior shots on the house so Google Streetview will have to do for now.

I'm really excited about this new garage. I've started to do some work on it already. I'm really wanting this garage to be multipurpose. The garage will be used for three cars plus I need space to be able to do wood working and work on cars. I plan to build an 8' workbench along the back but most work space will have to be movable.

My wife's car will be on the left side closest to the interior door and my 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE will be next to it. My 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL will be in the last bay (to the right). The Galaxie basically takes up the entire right bay so all I was able to do was build some ceiling mounted shelves. The work bench will sit in front of the RX-7 since it is the only short car.

I really started on the garage about a month ago. I picked up three sets of metal shelves used that I was able to setup in the unfinished portion of the basement. I was able to clear out most of the mess. Once that was done, I removed the homemade shelves in the third bay.

I also removed the homemade workbench with the cabinets (still shown up).

My white shelves that I installed right after we moved in. I picked them up when we remodeled the office at my work. The new workbench will be installed below the cabinets.

On the left side I installed one cabinet and planned the location of the chest freezer.

Last weekend I made good progress on the left wall. Electrical rough-in, insulation, and gypsum board are done. I still need to finish the plaster work.

I'll get some pictures of the garage when I get the new cabinets installed on the left wall and the mess cleaned up. I would like to get the garage painted at some point but that isn't going to happen any time soon.

What I have left to do in the garage for now:
-install cabinets on left wall
-build workbench on back wall
-finish electrical
-finish first coat of plaster on left wall

I will live with it once I get those things done. Eventually I'll finish the insulation and gyp board on front wall and right wall as well as do finish plaster work and paint. Ceiling light will also have to wait till we can budget for them. Before I do any of that I would like to insulate the attic because the garage gets really hot on warm days.

Nice progress... with 3 cars, that will take some creativity to have some working space. Now, how about a picture of the Galaxie?

Where about in the Springs?? I graduated HS from Fountain :D

Haven't done much to the garage the last few weeks. I did install the rest of the wall cabinets and started cleaning stuff up. I still need to install my wall mounted wood rack. I'm trying to get the garage cleaned up so we can get the cars parked in there before winter. I'm almost there, I just need a few days to do it.

I put an ad on craigslist for free aspen firewood if you cut the trees down. I just have a gas fireplace so I have no use for the wood. Someone came out and took two of the five trees I want gone and they should be coming out this weekend to finish.

Someone should be coming today to take some of the lava rock by the street. We are trying to get some of the yard cleaned up this year so next year we can really start on it. The previous owners really let the yard go and it was a mess. The back yard is really bad and all I've been able to do is clean up the trash (they used the window wells to throw their trash) and mow the weeds. I have the twigs that I still need to haul to the dump from the trees that were cut down.
