multitool grinder attachment?

Saw this in another thread, www.multitoolgrinder.com, and curious if anyone knows if it will fit a 6 inch HF grinder. Called and they did not know.

You need to remove the grinding wheel and guard from the HF grinder and make sure there are mounting holes on the motor ends. The MT adapter is just a flat bracket and needs those holes to mount to the grinder.

FWIW, I would not waste an excellent MT adapter on a POS grinder like that. Get a vintage US-made machine like Baldor/Rockwell/Milwaukee or other industrial grade model. It's worth it.

Understood but its what i have at this point. I found a templet that i printed off to test the fit. Looks like, from the manual there are srews on the end. Just need to check the spacing. If it doesnt work may have no choice.

If it works then go for it. The Multitool attachment will last and last. You can always upgrade your grinder at a later date if need be.

BTW, some people do not remember that we all start somewhere and learn and improve as we go and when we can . . . . keep your head and up

Thanks, i need to take the right side apart to check but it seems to meet the basic requirements. That was my thought as well i could always uprade the grinder later, if it fits.

I've wanted one of those since I saw it on Two Guys Garage a few years ago. They used to be around $250.00 with a motor. Now it's more like $500.00. Should have bought it then...

I have a Northern Tools grinder with belt sander attachment. Was just looking on their website to forward it to you, but can't find it anymore. I swear I saw it in their store recently, but then again mine is 15+ years old, so they may not make it anymore. If you find something like that, it's pretty handy without breaking the bank. That's what I started with. Eventually, I got a second grinder with a finer grit, and a wire brush. So all told I have a course grit wheel, coupled with the belt sander, and then a fine grit wheel coupled with a wire brush wheel. Inexpensive way to get what I wanted if you buy used equipment.

Thanks for the link. That is what I find I use one stone wheel and a wire brush on mine most of the time. But use the brush the least often so to give up that position for the multitool would not be to great of a loss.

CSPCRX, I'm not sure if you went any further with this.. but here's an idea.

If you can find a decent used Craftsman block grinder (at least 1/2HP, but 3/4 or 1HP would be best), this is a pretty cool kit McBrownie did.
