What do you guys think about the multitool sander attachment like the MT364? I am thinking really hard about getting a sander and was think of this as one of my options. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I got the blue point one (2"x36") on Amazon mounted on a Wilton grinder. I like it for what it is.
The Disc is almost useless. But the belt makes quick work of cleaning up tubing, shaping brackets, etc.

It was about half the price $108.00,of the genuine multitool but looks to be identical!

The 4" one looks cool. I would consider purchasing it in the future. It probably will work pretty good. I would mount it on a large bench grinder to make sure you have the juice with the larger belt.

Hope that helped

What size wilton grinder do you have. I currently have a 1hp. Do you think that would be enough for the multitool? Is the 2" one big enough or would you recom the 4"?

Thanks

I just had to check. It is the Wilton 1 hp. I am not sure if I would like the 4". It all depends on what you want to do with it. The 2" is nice for fine tuning brackets and cleaning tubing. I kinda like how small it is. It makes it easy to maneuverer a tight radius when grinding a bracket.

I would say it is plenty of HP. Once it gets going, its hard to bog it down (unlike the HF woodworking one I purchased before this)

It kinda ***** for us metal guys. They only real option is this or a $800 + dedicated belt sander. No real in between. If there is, I couldn't find it! (it took me over 2 years to finally decide to purchase this.)

Thanks for the input dragginbalz. I found a pretty good deal on the 2" mulitool and just got it in the mail yesterday so I plan on setting it up sometime this week. I have a small garage and it is nice that you can have a grinder and a sander in a small foot print. I started to go with a dedicated belt sander but just couldnt bring myself to do it.

I just bought one. Works great on my old Craftsman 1/2 HP. I also really like the quick change design to change belts

Because of the older design of this bench grinder I had to make the spacer you see in the picture, no big deal. With most of todays grinders this should not be the case.
