Muratic Acid and Rust.....HELP

I just had my new garaged finished and I am waiting for the concrete to cure before I epoxy paint it.
Unfortunately, I have to have my stuff in the garage when I paint it, I plan on doing it in thirds, and moving my stuff accordingly.
The paint manufacturer recommends a 3percent muratic acid wash and a power wash rinse.
I was just told that the muratic acid will rust all of the bare metal in the garage. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Any advice will be helpful, Thanks in advance.

Grind the floor instead of acid washing. Grinding leaves a better surface anyway. You can rent the Diamabrush setup at Home Depot. The cost will be higher because you would have to rent it 3 times but your stuff wouldn't be destroyed by the acid.

Fumes from the acid will react with unprotected metal.

A contractor friend found that out when he cleaned a fireplace and the metal in the room rusted and tarnished.

I stored a plastic, sealed bottle of muratic acid in my chemical cabinet. Over time, lots of the paint cans and the cabinet itself began to rust. +1
