Murphy bed (finished) recommendations

Hello GJer's,

I'm looking to put up a murphy bed in the home office as we need a secondary bed when we have more than one set of overnight guests. Given the number of projects I have going on, I need to go ahead and get something "nearly finished" that I just bolt together - I won't have time to buy a hardware kit and start custom making all of the individual cabinets and shelves.

My wall is about 14' long and I'd like to cover all of it (or nearly all of it), including a queen size bed and space for extra shelves for books and other items.

Has anyone had any experiences with any brands or online retailers that they'd recommend?

In March of 2025 we put in a very nice murphy bed from a local retailer in Virginia. The company/s website is https://warehouseshowrooms.com/ The bed was manufactured by a Amish company in Pennsylvania. I don't have the manufacturer name handy at the moment, but I will try to unearth it and share it here.

The OP wrote about wanting a unit with a queen bed with storage options. Our bed is a full size without storage. The small room limited placement options so we didn't choose a unit with storage options although more storage is always handy.


Because of where the bed was to be installed in a second floor room with a tight entrance, we opted to pay to have the manufacturer deliver the bed and do the installation. The dealer was confident their in-house team could do it as well for less money but we paid the extra money for factory installation. On the day of delivery, a 20 something Amish man and younger teen boy showed up at the door. In typical Amish fashion, they had a non-Amish driver who drove the truck and trailer down. They got to work moving the bed inside, up the staircase and assembling it for installation. It went smoothly, the bed looks nice and the room is much more functional.

We looked at a bunch of options and we're happy with what we chose. It wasn't a budget option and because of it's location and the amount of disassembly it would require to move, it may be a near permanent part of the house.
