I am at the stage in my build that I need to coat the floor, I do not have it in the budget to buy epoxy to cover 1500 sq ft. besides I paint and weld quite a bit and dont want to ruin a really nice floor. 90% of the stuff in my shop is on casters so moving this stuff every few years to re coat wont be a big deal. so my question is what brand/type of paint should I use? I am in PA so I might have to mail order it as well because PA has outlawed the use of oil based paints on construction.
Thanks
Frank

If my choices were to use a regular paint or leave the concrete bare I would choose to leave it bare. It doesn't matter what type of paint you choose. Unless it's an epoxy it will fail (and probably fairly quickly), ultimately you will be disappointed. Just my 2 cents worth.

Throw down some polyurethane if you don't want to go the epoxy route. I'm not sure if welding will hurt poly, though, but it's cheaper than epoxy.

Don't...... The paint will eventually come loose. The flakes will then stick to the bottom of your shoes and then fall off inside your house/office, etc. A real pain to clean up and if your married you'll never hear the end of it! LOL
