Working from my father's tools, He didn’t have a full 1/2” vintage set, but he did have many good vintage sockets and I chose this ratchet.
Herbrand Van-Chrome S-10 ~40's ratchet
New Britain 1 1/4”, S-K 1 1/8”, Snap On 1 1/16”, Plomb 1”, uk 13/16”, Snap On 25/32”, Snap On 3/4”, Herbrand 11/16”, S-K 5/8”, Duro Chrome 19/32”’ Craftsmen BE 9/16”, Craftsmen BE 1/2”

I like it! Very nice mix of old sockets. Now the "bug" will cause you to chase the rest so you'll have a set of Herbrand, S-K, Snap On, Duro-Indestro. Believe me, most of us have slid down that slope before. Best of all, you can't put the genie back in the bottle. Have fun. Steve

I myself have just falling down this rabbit hole....i habe a SK set an Indestro set a set of None Better sockets several different ratchets

He was referred to as Oil Drop Boy or man, there was a girl also. They were characters used for advertising by Esso and Humble Oil just like the tiger. I sorta collect Esso stuff for in my garage, I guess because I grew up a couple houses from one. Many knock offs being sold now days online.

Edit: wanted to clarify that I don’t mind reproductions, as long as they aren’t being passed off as old originals. I just prefer trying to find the old stuff.
