Hi All

Not a garage build here as i moved in to this house and it was built already. Not done that much to it yet, But come summer i will start after i finish the work on the car. Sorry for the mess but it is being used as a full on work shop just now.

What i have done so far.

Got some old kitchen units for storage there cheap and nasty but i need to spend on the car first and the Garage second for now as i need it back on the road for spring.
*New scissor lift ramp
* Pillar Drill no photos as i only got this a couple days ago
*Vice mounted to the bench at long last
*50L compressor to run my air tools

I painted to floor but i needs doing again the hot car tyres are lifting the paint so i need to put some foam pads down where the car sits and i will go over it all again in the summer.

Now the pictures of where it stands as i said bit of a mess and lots to be done, It's great on here for ideas and inspiration cheers folks.

You've sure used your space well. The office in my shop is bigger than that, I can't imagine having a car in there. :lol_hitti

Thanks all.

Space is at a premium in the uk for Garages and so many rules and regs when building them. Mine is classed as a large single

I would like triple this size next time round when i buy a new house. Might not be in the UK just wish i could bring my TVR to the states but your rules wont allow it

Hey, it's bigger than mine (10x20).

That ***** about no TVRs here. But don't you want a 24 foot long 8 liter gas guzzler of a 4wd truck!? :)

(I keed, i keed... but I did seriously look at a crew cab chevy once. I would've had a hard time finding a place to park it... it was about 6" longer than my driveway, and a foot or two longer than my garage!)

Of course, I love the ls engines so i would need something American V8 to stable mate my British V8 :)

I think it is a age rule so once the Cerbera gets to a certain age i can import it. Saying that i need to explore more of the states first to see if it is for me ,Ihave only been to Houston with work before. But lucky for me i can live anywhere due to the nature of my work.

I have never seen anyone use a prefab concrete foundation for walls before. That is very interesting.

They use them all the time over here for Garages i just helped my friend put one up last summer. Very easy to do. Did not know they used them as prefab foundations as well.

Thanks for the info.

That TVR is great! How long have you had it? And I am very interested in the design of that scissors lift. I am sure it is not imported into the States but could you post any information about the maker? I would like to take a closer look. Thanks!

Hi Thruxton Thanks.

I have had this one for just over a year now i enjoyed it over the summer now time to get stuck in to the jobs i have been putting off. this is my second TVR i have owned them for the last 5 years now. Great fun.

As for the lift here is the company i bought mine from but i have seen a few other of the same design from other companys. Works well in my small garage and gives me 1meter of lift (3.3ft i think)

And the other make can be found here.

I am sure they get imported as i had to wait for mine. could very well have been the states they are made in. Might be worth e-mailing them to ask who supply's them?

But I am sure there will be some one over there who does these.

I have only had it a few weeks and very happy with it so far it can lift 3tons so plenty for me as the tvr is only 1 ton and i have a Mini cooper s which is much the same.

Thanks, Scotty D, and Tom, you're right, the Atlas Kwik Bay Greg Smith sells is very similar to the lift Scotty has, even to the air-operated locks. Thanks for pointing that out.

The car is back on the road at long last so i gave me a chance to sort the Garage out.
How it now stands i re-painted the floor and added some mats, Nice and soft for when working under the car.

When Gran Turismo, the video game came out, I used to rock that TVR around the track like no one's business! I love your car and love seeing what can be done with a limited amount of garage space. Thanks for sharing!
