Well guys I'm not one to show my projects but figured I do enough S talking around here maybe it was about time.

Normally it's a top to bottom build and mostly engine related but this go around the car didn't get to me until Saturday the 24th which didn't leave much time. At a minimum the big brake kit, interior and a bunch of one off carbon fiber pieces needed to be installed. So other then those I put all my focus into the air ride components in the trunk. The owner wanted it to look like it was floating.

For any of you guys that have installed this **** before, you know it's loaded with solenoid control wiring and obviously the compressor leads. When I started on Saturday morning it start innocently enough with the brackets to hang it off the cross bar and the motor end caps that house the compressor wiring, I didn't take any pic's of that stuff. But once I got going on the solenoid block, I got off my *** and documented it. So now that I've made all my excuses, here ya go.

I decided to run my wiring within the tubing to match the pneumatics. All of it -6. I machined a plunger piece to block the air passage from the port. Screwed in the adapter, drilled my vertical holes, grabbed my porting **** and radiused the inside of the block. I wish I had gotten smaller conductors, but grabbed what I had and stuffed it in. I might have slightly exceeded my allowable fill capacity just every so slightly :D

My OCD requires me to do stupid **** like match the center line of the support bar to my tubing radius.

Now off to the fun stuff. This is one of the few pictures that allow you to see the spacing off the bottom of the trunk.

All the tubing was then brushed finished and clear coated and yes I sanded all that **** parallel to the length of the pipe even the radius's, all 30ft of it.

I wish my pictures had turned out better, but these were taken around midnight after a 18hr day Saturday the 31st. I even made the dumb *** light fixture. And no matter what angle you look, not one single once of wiring can be seen.

very cool and very brave to take apart and rewire the $400+ VU4 manifold! Really like the hidden harness in the hardline and all that pretty bent tubing is making me wish I was more motivated to hardline my accuair truck!

I also have the VU4 and switchspeed Accuair setup in my GTI. Very impressive route you took.

But I am curious, why use the semi-dated VU4 when Airlift just released the 3H and 3P systems? Partial to Accuair?

I have no idea. Those parts were already in the ride from when I did the original install of the AN lines to the shocks back in March. Prior to this the compressors and valve body where behind a plexi display case. The owner had the trunk interior redone to accommodate the new stereo which dictated a redo of everything. Originally he just wanted me to machine some brackets to hang all the **** off of. Then he mentioned he wanted to hide the wiring. After that it took on a life of it's own.

Very nice work. Can you explain why this was needed and what else has been modded on the car. Obviously it's not a stock car with that in the trunk.

Impressive. I hope you show us some photos of your work being admired at SEMA.

Why absolutely. I'll be up there tomorrow thru the end of the week.

where are his water traps, by the way?

Off both sides of the tank

Well it got a new interior, big boy Brembo's, new one off rims, both a rear defuser and front splitter out of carbon fiber built by my good buddy Chad at Black Op's. These are the prototypes for production. The car has all kinds of one off touches provided by Chrysler when we originally put it together earlier this year. I'll grab some more pictures this week. Honest to gawd it made it into my shop Saturday morning and never saw the light of day until yesterday morning when it made it into Vegas.

Oop's I forgot to answer your question. Air suspension allows you to lower and raise the car. She'll almost lay frame. Matter of fact Chad designed the rear defuser so the vanes sit level with the ground when the cars slammed.

Wiring..........I don't see any wiring. That is a clean install and a great idea. I like the bends in the tube and my OCD approves.

The wheels on the other hand; Just when I thought the popular wheel/tire combos couldn't get any more fugly, this one proves it is possible. I am about function and would take stock tires/wheels over the new rage of big wheels and tires with no sidewall, or in the case of my trucks, more traditional chrome or aluminum wheels with some nice 33" or 35" tires that will roll over a curb like it isn't there. The big brakes are cool, if they perform.

I hope you get some good recognition for your work. Tonight I was talking to some gun club buddies and one of them asked what SEMA was, as the other skipped the first day of to be at our meeting. SEMA to autos is SHOT to guns.

What booth?

It's in the mothers tent.

Cg, I'm with ya bud. I'm not a fan of those wheels either. The other wheels really worked for this car, but to each his own. The "theme" as explained to me was to have a industrial finish, hence all the clear coated brushed aluminum. What's funny is the interio looks almost identical to one of my other builds from a few years ago. The difference is this guy used red leather and I used carbon fiber material. Posting from a phone doesn't work too well for me, but if anyone is so inclined look up the hillbilly challenger. ;)

LX, great work.

Question for everyone: is SEMA open to the public?

If I show up at the front door will they sell Joe Blow a ticket and let me in?

I'm pretty sure you used to have some connection to the auto industry in some way to get in.

Sorry d, it's not and no they won't. You'd get away with walking around the outside but they check badges when entering a building. If you're good at being sneaky go check out someone's badge, get some colored paper and stuff it in a badge holder like the ones you get at the races that hang around your neck and turn it backwards, that might work for a while. Lmao

Thanks again guys. And tf, I've been out of the picture for a long time. Soooo how about a hint who you are and ya, see ya then. In speaking with Chrysler this next event might be extra special. They want to take it to another level, I sure hope they do.

Btw, the car wasn't placed at the main mothers tent but another one by south hall that's a bit obscure. So other then sponsored traffic, my trunk of pleasure got missed by the mass's. Lol.

One of my other builds made the cover of mopar action in July, I'm hoping this one makes the cover of air ride digest someday :bounce:

Was hoping to see it. Went to main booth and asked. Hoping today to find it.
Pretty sore from all the walking.

I go by OnTheRock'08 on LXforums and challengertalk. My challenger had a bit part in a SpeedChannel episode about a Mike Lavallee project, since he did my paint job. Haven't been to SF the last few years, hoping 2016.

I'm telling you, it's out of the way maybe 100ft from paradise. Had my son and I not walked every inch of the place this year I would have missed it. And ya I'm with ya on the walking part, I'm whipped.

I remember that. How's the paint holding up?? Do you ever make it out to local events?

Not to your local events, I'm in Washington. Got a high school buddy in SoCal (Huntington Beach) and I try to get down there once a year. Paint job looks great, the car is a garage queen, we don't have SoCal weather here.
