Very cool, I have an 18x22 as well. Not too many of those around, nicely done!

care to share roughly the $ put into this project, not including the concrete driveway or deck? looking to do a similar build and was trying to figure out the foundation, lumber, siding, shingles, etc. costs involved. you can PM me, if not, no big deal

that-guy, these amounts are all from memory but probably pretty close. and i did everything myself, besides garage door & the concrete work.
truss - $800
garage door - $500
lumber, shingles, cement siding, paint & misc - $3800
the concrete work included about 130' of driveway, 30' of sidewalk & the slab/footing, all that was $6500

this survey shows the constraints of my property. and have actually found out since i started all this that this property did, at one time, have a garage similar in size which was demolished around 1995 when they added onto the house

Sorry to bump up this old thread but do anyone know what size door did he use? I'm building my 18x22 and I'm not sure is a 16x8 door will work. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it would probably work fine. Note the way that the beam goes all the way to the end of the wall, and the way the sheathing and straps are done to provide shear strength.

Thanks for answering, do you happen to know which strap I should be using, and how many will I need on each 1 foot wall? Thanks
