Hi All

I'm Jerry from Maryland. I live on a small lot and it has a two story detached garage probably built post WWII, about 16 ft x 24 ft, wood frame, 2x4, wood sheathing made from packing crates (hey they made crates very well back then!). I added a 12 x 14 shed extension to the back in the 80's.
So over the years it was part shop and part storage of very critical materials that I seems I never got around to using. Another words, junk.
I have a hobby of outdoor model railroading (Garden railroading) which was also taking up a lot of space.
Finally hired a contractor to help me refurbish the building. And it needed help, as there were 3 trees planted many years ago right against the foundation which cracked and damaged the block, the interior was 2/3 concrete and 1/3 dirt, and there was a sag in the first floor ceiling due to the beam in the dirt rotting away over the decades. And the siding was a mix of old asbestos shingles, T1-11, and roofing shingles as siding. Just lovely.
Plenty of power from a nearby pole, but no heating or cooling other then window AC units and propane heater. That sets the stage for what was to come. Looking forward to telling this story if it is of interest to anyone

Regards

Jerry
